My Poem On BBC 6 Music!

A good test for poems is whether they feel like they have a life of their own when read by other people. I hear my poetry so clearly in my head. I can twist and turn the words so that the pace feels right. But the verses need to be able to survive in the big wide world. They need to flow when read spontaneously from the page by anyone who picks up the book.

This is why I was so excited to hear the inimitable Craig Charles read my poem Creativity from my book Even After Everything, live on BBC 6 Music on National Poetry Day. I loved how it sounded in his voice, almost exactly as I hear it in my head.

I hope you enjoy this clip! Postcards, mugs and posters are available in my shop.
