Summer Playlist

The warmth of Summer somehow creates a stillness where creativity can flow late into the night. I find myself going for evening walks after dinner as the sun goes down, a perfect place to allow plot points to untangle themselves in my mind as I stroll. A kind of reverie descends. As always, music accompanies me and this playlist has shaped over the last couple of months. I often find I start with something that wakes me up and end with a song that is like a lullaby. This time, once again, the last song on this list is by Arooj Aftab. A drifting, beautiful piece that carries me as I return home to draw or write and the sky fills with stars.
