Six Self Care Treats For You

I create illustrations, books and paintings to steady and soothe myself in tumultuous times and find that everything I make has an underlying theme of self care. Below are six treats that started out as things that, I confess, I originally created for myself but I hope will bring you a little comfort and cosiness too.

1. Be Kind To Your Mind Print, £18 - £30 depending on size chosen
I originally drew this illustration for Mental Health Awareness Week and have the 16” x 20” print in my lounge. It reminds me every day to be a little more gentle with myself.

2. Bear Hug Mug, £15
There’s nothing quite like a big bear hug is there? I started drawing hugs during lockdown to comfort myself and using this mug makes me feel like I’m having a virtual hug every day.

3. Tell Me Stories Painting, £18 - £30 depending on size chosen
You know that feeling when you first get to know someone and you get totally lost in their stories? Originally painted in acrylics with a touch of gold, this abstract with lulling brushstrokes tries to capture that feeling.

4. Covered In Gold Confetti Poetry Book, £7.99
A pocket sized poetry book of poems written as an expression of love and grief. Just the right size to keep in your handbag or beside your bed to dip into when you need a little escapism or support. Click here to read some sample poems.

5. Be Kind To Your Mind Mug, £15
I drink my first coffee of the day from this mug and I find it reminds me to take a moment of two to take a breath and remember to be kind to myself.

6. Everyone Needs A Little Hygge Print, £18 - £30 depending on size chosen
Think of how you feel with a mug of hot chocolate, a big cosy jumper, curling up with a good book or eating and drinking with family and friends and losing track of time. Complete cosiness and contentment. That’s the Danish concept of hygge. And we all need it a little of it in our lives.
